Sending your pump to us Tips What we do need and what we don't
Here is a list to help get your pump fixed and back to you ASAP.
- Drain all fluids
- Remove all injector lines and inlet and return lines
- Be sure to leave the throttle lever attached
- Leave the shut off lever attached if equipped
- Do not remove the inlet fitting (it will need to be used with the pump during testing)
- Do not remove the return or outlet fitting(many of these have pressure regulating devices built in or control pressure and will need to be tested)
- Stanadyne Pumps and Roosa Master Pumps that have removable drive shafts, it is not necessary to send the shaft, but if you take it off it is a good idea to send it with the pump.
When Preparing to send your injector pump through the USPS, Fed EX or UPS you want to be sure of a few things.
1) Always use a service that will give you a tracking number. UPS and Fed Ex this is standard, UPS and Fed Ex off a more reliable service than USPS
2) Be sure the pump is drained of all fluids, CAV Rotary pumps loosen the bleed screws or take the side plate off to let the pump drain, after any pump is drained replace what you removed to drain it, if it was a bleed screw or side cover.
3) Place your pump in a plastic bag. a garbage bag will work, roll it up, then place it in another plastic bag.
4) Take the pump and roll it up in news paper, try to get at least a couple of inches of cushion around the pump.
5) Place the pump in your shipping box, make sure it can not move around in the box, if needed add more paper around the sides of the pump, or wrap more around the pump.
6) Write your name, phone number, and address on a piece of paper, place the paper in a zip-loc or sealed plastic bag and lay it on top, close the package and tape the openings shut.
