Tips on Shipping your Diesel Injector Pump
When Preparing to send your injector pump through the USPS, Fed EX or UPS you want to be sure of a few things.
1) Always use a service that will give you a tracking number.
UPS and Fed Ex this is standard, USPS you will have to add it on but the rates will still be very competitive with the "If it fits it ships boxes"
2) Be sure the pump is drained of all fluids, CAV Rotary pumps loosen the bleed screws or take the side plate off to let the pump drain, after any pump is drained replace what you removed to drain it, if it was a bleed screw or side cover.
3) Place your pump in a plastic bag. a garbage bag will work, roll it up, then place it in another plastic bag.
4) Take the pump and roll it up in news paper, try to get at least a couple of inches of cushion around the pump.
5) Place the pump in your shipping box, make sure it can not move around in the box, if needed add more paper around the sides of the pump, or wrap more around the pump.
6) Write your name, phone number, and address on a piece of paper, place the paper in a zip-loc or sealed plastic bag and lay it on top, close the package and tape the openings shut.
